So, I finally got around to starting a blog! I think the last time this went down, I was sixteen, and pretty much just listed products that I used at the moment. I decided to start a blog among the thousands of beauty blogs out there because sometimes there just isn't enough caption space on Instagram to share all that I have to say! And, personally, I'm not cut out to be a YouTube guru. I'd probably get super nervous, start tripping up on all my words, and end up just doing a voiceover anyways.
I'm super excited to build up a platform where I can share more in-depth content with y'all! I've been wanting to post some fun, personal stuff like my seasonal skincare routines, daily glam tutorials, and possibly even non-makeup related posts. Also, I'm excited to share some behind-the-scenes photos on projects I've been working on, and step-by-steps that other artists and aspiring MUAs can look at, too. But, most importantly, I want to keep sort of a 'diary' of my progression as an artist, and keep record of all the amazing opportunities in chronological order so I can look back, and take note of my journey!
2016 has been an amazing year for both Nicole Cheng Artistry and Nicole Cheng, personally. I re-vamped and launched my new website early on in the year, and in doing that, got to meet so many new clients, as well as reconnect with old friends over a glam sesh. A few months later, I signed with BeGlammed, an app based company that offers mobile makeup and hair services! The 'uber' for makeup concept is such a great way to meet clients, and if I'm having a slow weekday, and am in the mood to brighten someone's day, I'll log on, accept an appointment, and I'm off to create some magic! Working with them has really opened a lot of doors for me, from being able to do makeup on set for photoshoots, as well as getting my foot in the door for the bridal industry. In the summer, I graduated college, and since then, have made Nicole Cheng Artistry my full-time job and first priority. As the year is coming to an end, I've been falling more and more in love with the bridal industry as a whole, and recently became a featured artist for The Knot! As it's peak engagement season at the moment, I've been getting to meet with more and more brides, planning and consulting with them for their 2017 and 2018 weddings, and I've been loving every minute of it! Getting to be a part of someone's special day is probably the best part about being a makeup artist, even if it's just to give a lil' confidence boost to an already glowing bride. Basically, 2016 has been the best year ever, and am so excited to further my career in the coming years!
I wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season, and stay tuned for more posts in the coming weeks! Please let me know if you have any requested posts in the comments section below, I'm always open to new ideas!
